Intensive Care

Private Imperial Hospital's Intensive Care Units provide uninterrupted, 24/7 life support equipped with advanced technology for life-threatening critical illnesses. Our hospital has a tertiary (level 3) intensive care infrastructure where the most severe and complex cases can be managed. Our goal is to stabilise our patients' vital functions as quickly as possible and help them safely regain their health.

The intensive care process can be difficult and worrying for both patients and their relatives. With this in mind, alongside medical excellence we embrace a compassionate and transparent approach to communication. With our advanced isolation rooms, modern ventilator infrastructure and expert healthcare professionals, we are at your service in critical moments.

Adult Intensive Care Unit

Our adult intensive care unit provides treatment and monitoring for adult patients facing serious life-threatening risks. The main conditions treated include:

  • Multiple organ failure
  • Severe infections and sepsis
  • Serious respiratory and heart failure
  • Brain haemorrhages and severe neurological diseases
  • Major traumas and conditions following traffic accidents
  • Monitoring after high-risk and lengthy surgical operations

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Our neonatal intensive care unit is there for babies born early or with health problems. The treatments we offer our little patients include:

  • Early (premature) births
  • Development of low-birth-weight babies
  • Transient tachypnoea of the newborn or severe respiratory failure
  • Neonatal infections and jaundice treatment

A conventional appointment system does not apply to intensive care. When your patient is admitted to intensive care, our responsible physicians carry out a detailed assessment and draw up a treatment plan. Keeping patients' relatives informed throughout this process is very important to us. Our authorised physicians give regular face-to-face updates on your patient's condition at set times.

For follow-up care after your patient is discharged from intensive care, you can get support from our outpatient clinics. For our hospital's other departments or post-discharge check-ups, you can visit our appointment page or reach us 24/7 through our call centre at 444 44 61.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are visitors allowed in intensive care?

We care about our patients' morale and motivation. However, to prevent the risk of infection, visits take place depending on the patient's medical condition, with the permission of the responsible physician, within designated short time slots and under strict hygiene rules.

How can I find out about my patient's general condition?

Every day, at designated information hours, our responsible intensive care physician gives the first-degree relatives of our intensive care patients detailed information about the patient's general condition, the treatments being given and the course of care.
