What are Rehabilitation Methods?
Orthopedic Rehabilitation: Orthopedic problems such as fractures, dislocations, ligament injuries, meniscus and ligament tears, after surgical application, splinting such as cast or splint, physical therapy and rehabilitation programs should be applied. It is important for the completion of tissue healing, recovery to the closest form to its previous state, and continuity of the rehabilitation process for joint movements to reach their former comfort and strength.
Neurological Rehabilitation: Rehabilitation plays an important role in increasing the patient's ability to perform daily functions within their own environment and helps the nervous system to recover. Standard exercises, muscle strengthening exercises, balance and coordination training, walking training, neurophysiological exercises are applied in the rehabilitation program for patients who have had a stroke.
Pediatric Rehabilitation: Cerebral Palsy (Spastic Child), Spina Bifida (congenital spinal gap), Brachial Plexus Paralysis at birth (damage to arm nerves at birth), and Toricolis (Difficulty in Turning the Head in One Direction Due to Shortening of Neck Muscles), traumatic brain injury, congenital or acquired arm or leg losses and spinal cord injury conditions are treated by Physical Therapists and their team, aiming to provide recovery.
Sports Rehabilitation: In Sports Rehabilitation, acute or chronic health problems or injuries resulting from sports are examined, measured and evaluated.
Hand Rehabilitation: The aim is to solve the deficiencies that may occur in the hand and to reactivate its function with rehabilitation and orthosis before and after tendon and nerve injuries, fractures, joint replacements, amputations, burns, and hand surgery.
Physical Therapy Applications in Our Clinic:
• Hot application: With hot treatment, blood flow increases, pain decreases, and muscle spasms are resolved. In addition, the flexibility of the tissues increases, which facilitates exercise and treatment in joints with limited movement. Hot application includes superficial heat that heats the skin and subcutaneous tissues, and deep heat applications that heat deeper tissues such as muscle-bone-ligaments. Hot towel packs, ultraviolet (ultraviolet rays), infrared (infrared rays), and paraffin baths are used as superficial heaters in our clinic. Ultrasound and short-wave diathermy are used as deep heaters. In addition, turbulent water baths that we use especially for wrist-ankle-elbow in orthopedic rehabilitation are also a part of our hot treatment. Cold application is done with cold packs. It is used in many joints where movement restrictions develop after surgery and in the treatment of pain that occurs after trauma.
• Electrotherapy: Currents of various types have pain-relieving, edema-resolving effects. Diadynamics, interference currents, TENS, Russian current, Galvanic Faradic current are used in our clinic. In addition, electrical stimulation is applied for strengthening purposes in muscle weaknesses due to nerve injuries.
•Traction: It is one of the oldest treatment methods used quite effectively in waist-neck-back pain. Traction is a method that we use frequently in our clinic for waist and neck problems and we get very good results.
• Manipulation: Manipulation procedure, which is a very effective method in the non-surgical treatment of lumbar disc herniations, is applied in our clinic. In the treatment of patients with herniated discs, manipulation is a method that accelerates the healing process and facilitates rehabilitation program applications. After the diagnosis is made and the right patient is selected, manipulation should be applied by experienced physicians who have received training on this subject.
• Massage: It is applied as a part of the treatment to loosen hard tissues or in cases where deep heaters cannot be used. Massage has a complementary role in physical therapy applications and should not be seen as a treatment method on its own.
Massage Types;
- Trigger Point Massage
- Reflexology Massage
- Lymph Drainage Massage

MANUAL THERAPY
The main task of manual therapy is to restore impaired joint movements to their normal state; it includes all techniques to correct muscle spasm and the spinal column. These disorders can cause pain and function in the person; posture and movement changes. Manual therapy is used to strengthen the mobility of the joints and reduce muscle tension in order to allow the patient to move more naturally without pain.
Using manual therapy techniques (manipulation-mobilization-traction), The elimination of diagnosed functional joint disorders belongs to manual therapy.
Manual therapy is as old as human history. Drawings made on the movement system date back 3000 years to Jesus.
The famous physicians of ancient times, Hippocrates-Galen-Apoloniy of Kritia, mentioned the treatment "done with pressure" in spinal stretching; different treatments done with hands and feet.
These disorders can cause pain and function in the person; posture and movement changes. Manual therapy is used to strengthen the mobility of the joints and reduce muscle tension in order to allow the patient to move more naturally without pain.
What are the advantages of manual therapy over other treatments?
- Quick recovery
- Most of the pain is relieved even in a single session
- It is a fast and effective solution since it is applied directly to the problem area.
What diseases is manual therapy effective in treating?
- Lumbar disorders: Herniated disc; facet joint blockages; canal stenosis; lumbar spondylolisthesis
- Neck disorders: Cervical disc herniation; neck flattening; facet joint problems; neck-related headache
- Shoulder problems: Muscle tear; frozen shoulder; Impingement syndrome
- Elbow problems: Tennis elbow; Golfer's elbow; Ulnar nerve entrapment neuropathy
- Wrist problems: Carpal tunnel syndrome; Dequervain tenosynovitis Dupuytren contracture
- Hip problems: Hip dislocation; Piriformis syndrome; Post-coxanthrosis hip problem
- Knee disorders: Meniscus tears; Anteroposterior lateral ligament tears; Genu varum; Genu valgum; Recurvatum problems
- Ankle: Heel spur; Hallux valgus; Tarsal tunnel syndrome; Morton syndrome neuroma
- Post-fracture rehabilitation: Special limitation opening techniques
